This is the Store and Telegraph office was constructed in 1885 by William Walker using the lumber from the torn down 1867 Roper shed across the highway, this building was used as a general store as well as a telegraph office. There were rumors at the time that the reason for moving the building was to look for gold buried by Anges MacVee. The building was operated by Walker until 1891, when he sold the property to Stephen Tingley for $320. Stephen's son Clarence operated the telegraph office and store until selling to Captain Watson in 1903.
